Sidewalk improvements in Chula to begin ahead of schedule

St. Joseph, Mo. - A sidewalk improvement project on Route K in Chula is scheduled to begin on Thursday, May 9. The project to help ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), funded in part through the Transportation Alternatives Program, will improve sidewalks in Chula, Ludlow and Wheeling.

Work on Route K in Chula is expected to be complete by Friday, May 10. Crews then plan to begin construction on Route B in Wheeling on Monday, May 13.

The project is expected to be complete by late June.

Some lane closures will be necessary throughout the project. Motorists are encouraged to use caution and follow all traffic control, flaggers, signs and barricades. All vehicles and personal property will need to be removed from the work area prior to start of construction.
