Aquila’s Luminary Lecture to remind and excite about daily Eucharist miracles

When the University of St. Thomas-Houston extended its presence to include Montgomery County, the University began providing enriching Luminary Lectures to this community. The next Luminary Lecture on April 24, from 5:30 - 7 p.m., at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Parish Life Center in Conroe, is titled "Eucharistic Miracles: God's Overflowing Love and Goodness" and will be presented by Dr. Dominic Aquila, professor of History, Fellow of the Core, and Associate Dean of UST's Liberal Studies, Fine and Performing Arts.

A Celebratory Event

This Luminary Lecture is a celebratory and enriching event to prepare for the National Eucharistic Congress in July. The Congress is dedicated to reminding Catholics and non-Catholics of a profound truth, that Jesus is fully present in the Eucharist - mind, body, soul and Divinity.

Dr. Aquila says, "God's abundant and overflowing love for each of us is available whenever we receive Jesus in the Holy Eucharist at daily and Sunday Mass, adore Him in the Monstrance during times of Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, and make short visits to Jesus in the tabernacle as part of our daily routine. Eucharist miracles occur during each of these occasions, miracles that transform people's lives and entire cultures."

Attendees will hear how extraordinary miracles occur to wrest us from complacency when we take for granted or ignore the everyday miracle that is the Real Presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist.

Audience Experience

After hearing the talk, audience members will depart reminded, excited, and thinking more deeply about the reality of Eucharist miracles occurring daily, all over the world, when bread and wine are transformed into the body and blood of Jesus. They will also learn about the verified, extraordinary Eucharist miracles that have occurred in nearly every century since the Apostolic age.
