Frederick Police Lift Lockdown at FCC

On March 12,2024, at 7:14 p.m., officers from the Frederick Police Department received a report from a third party regarding a potential threat of a student possessing a gun within the Frederick Community College campus. It's important to note that no descriptions of individuals or firearms were observed by students or officers. As a precautionary measure, the campus was placed on a brief lockdown while a police K9 unit conducted a thorough sweep of the building.

We want to assure the community that the situation has been thoroughly investigated, and there is no immediate threat to safety. The lockdown has been lifted, and normal activities are resuming. You may see an increase police presence in the area. We appreciate everyone's cooperation and understanding during this time. Please remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities immediately. Thank you.
