Question No. 5783

To ask the Minister for Health in each year for the past five years, how many mothers aged 19 and younger had their pregnancies confirmed at (i) polyclinics (ii) public hospitals and (iii) private hospitals respectively.

Answer

1 MOH does not track the number of pregnancies confirmed. However, we do track the number of teenagers aged 19 and below who sought obstetrics care. This has dropped from about 600 in 2018 to about 500 in 2022. During this time, the percentage of pregnancies managed at public health institutions have also fallen, from 71% to 62%.
