PALEMBANG - PT Semen Baturaja Tbk (SMBR) as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) distributes assistance to Persons with Disabilities, Orphans, Dhuafa and Santri Tahfidz as well as Mosque Equipment around the company. The handover of the aid coincided with SMBR's Ramadan 1445 Hijriah Recitation Activity together with the South Sumatra Provincial Government (Pemprov Sumsel) which took place at the Aryaduta Hotel, Palembang City, South Sumatra on Thursday (28/3).

This recitation activity was attended by the Acting Governor of South Sumatra Agus Fatoni, Forkopimda, BUMN, BUMD, other Government Agencies and the entire SMBR Board of Directors including Main Director Suherman Yahya, Director (Operations Function) Muhammad Syafitri and Director (Finance & HR Function) Rahmat Hidayat along with employees /ti and aid recipients.

The event began with Isha prayers and congregational Tarawih followed by tausiyah and handing over aid to people with disabilities, mosques, poor orphans and tahfidz students who were handed over symbolically by the SMBR Directors witnessed by the Acting Governor of South Sumatra.

In his speech, the Main Director of SMBR, Suherman Yahya, expressed his happiness at being able to meet and stay in touch with the invited guests. "Thank God, we can meet at this Ramadhan Safari activity, which is a very meaningful forum for all of us to build relationships, increase faith, strengthen ties of brotherhood, as well as increase social awareness," he said.

He explained that in this activity the company distributed various Ramadan aid worth IDR 152.5 million. These include assistance to people with disabilities worth IDR 20 million and mosque equipment worth IDR 80 million.

"We also provide assistance to orphans, poor people and tahfidz students worth IDR 52.5 million which comes from the SMBR Zakat, Infaq and Alms Fund (ZIS) which is managed and distributed through the South Sumatra Province National Zakat Amil Agency (BAZNAS)," he explained.

Meanwhile, on the same occasion, Acting Governor of South Sumatra Agus Fatoni explained that this activity was a Ramadan Safari activity of the South Sumatra Provincial Government together with Forkopimda, BUMN, BUMD throughout South Sumatra.

"Thank God, today PT Semen Baturaja is the host and tonight we can be together and stay in touch, those who haven't seen each other for a long time can meet, those who don't know each other become acquainted. This is one of the meanings of the wisdom of the Ramadan safari," he explained.

Agus Fatoni expressed his gratitude to Forkopimda, BUMN, BUMD throughout South Sumatra who have collaborated with the South Sumatra Provincial Government in carrying out this activity. (*)
