American Tobacco District Waterline Replacement - Phase 1 Project Update and Two-Week Look Ahead

Planned Road / Lane Closures will occur as follows:

  • Week of 5/10:
    • Temporary lane closures of Jackson Street east of Willard Street.
    • Full closure of Jackson Street between Duke Street and Willard Street.
    • Lane closure in Duke Street between Yancey Street and Pettigrew Street.
  • Week of 5/17:
    • Temporary lane closures of Jackson Street east of Willard Street.
    • Full closure of Jackson Street between Duke Street and Willard Street.
    • Lane closure in Duke Street between Yancey Street and Pettigrew Street.

Saturday - Sunday May 8-9, 2021:

  • No work will take place on Saturday or Sunday.

Week of May 10, 2021:

  • Jackson Street east of Willard Street will have temporary lane closures to accommodate waterline installation.
    • Traffic control signs and markings will be used for the Jackson Street detour.
    • Access to the ATC North Deck via Willard / Julian Carr will be open during lane closure.
    • Sidewalk traffic will be disrupted.
    • Noise levels in excess of the current City noise ordinance are anticipated during work hours.
    • Planned work hours are 7 AM to 7 PM.
    • Planned water service interruptions will be coordinated at least 7 days in advance.
  • Jackson Street between Duke Street and Willard Street will have a full closure to accommodate transmission main installation.
    • Traffic control signs and markings will be used for the Jackson Street detour.
    • Access to the parking deck and surface parking lot will be maintained.
    • Sidewalk traffic will be disrupted.
    • Noise levels in excess of the current City noise ordinance are anticipated during work hours.
    • Planned work hours are 7 AM to 7 PM.
    • No water or sewer service disruptions are anticipated.
  • Duke Street between Yancey Street and Pettigrew Street will have a lane closure to accommodate waterline installation.
    • Traffic control signs and markings will be used for the lane closure.
    • Lane shifts with flaggers will be utilized for traffic control while work is taking place in intersections and at waterline connection locations.
    • Sidewalk traffic will be disrupted.
    • Noise levels in excess of the current City noise ordinance are anticipated during work hours.
    • Planned work hours are 7 AM to 7 PM.
    • No water or sewer service disruptions are anticipated.

Saturday - Sunday May 15-16, 2021:

  • No work will take place on Saturday or Sunday.

Week of May 17, 2021:

  • Jackson Street east of Willard Street will have temporary lane closures to accommodate waterline installation.
