Upcoming bridge rehabilitation work on NB US-65 bridge over Muddy Creek, May 6 - Fall 2024

PETTIS COUNTY - The Missouri Department of Transportation will be performing a bridge rehabilitation project on the northbound bridge of U.S. Highway 65 over Muddy Creek beginning Mon., May 6. In the first phase, crews will build crossover lanes to divert future traffic from the northbound to the southbound lanes. The construction of these crossover lanes will result in intermittent lane closures in the northbound and southbound lanes. In the next phase, crews will close the northbound bridge and divert northbound traffic to the southbound lanes via the crossover - reducing both northbound and southbound traffic to one lane each. The northbound bridge will be closed for the remainder of the project. Work on the bridge will include a bridge deck replacement and superstructure work. The project is expected to be completed in Fall 2024. All work is weather permitting.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
