Media Alert: Petitions and Executive Undertakings Committee to Conduct Inspection at Sekhukhune District Municipality

Parliament, Friday, 26 August 2022 - The Select Committee on Petitions and Executive Undertakings will conduct an oversight visit to the Sekhukhune District Municipality in Limpopo.

The visit arising from a petition the committee received in which the petitioner alleges that the Sekhukhune District Municipality has failed to provide clean running water to the Flag Boshielo West community for several years. The petitioner further states that despite court orders and interventions, the municipality has still not addressed the matters raised in the petition.

The committee then resolved that, given the urgency of the situation, it must carry out an inspection in loco within the municipality.

Details of the meeting are as follows:
Date: Friday, 26 August 2022
Venue: Sekhukhune District Municipal Council Chamber
Time: 10:30 - 14:30
