Inquest into the Death of Claude Motard Announced

Dr. Louise McNaughton-Filion, Regional Supervising Coroner, East Region, Ottawa office, has announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Claude Motard.

Mr. Motard, 67 years old, died at Ottawa Hospital on August 2, 2019, after being transferred from Brockville Jail. An inquest into his death is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Motard's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths.
