Expressions of interest for Timor Leste commemoration

We are seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from New Zealand veterans who served in East Timor (now Timor Leste) as part of INTERFET, or with the United Nations, who may wish to attend a national commemoration.

The commemoration will be at Pukeahu National War Memorial Park, Wellington, at 11:00am on Saturday, 21 September 2024.

We are expecting a lot of interest in this commemoration, which will acknowledge all those who played a critical role in contributing to the peace and independence of Timor Leste, and honour those who lost their lives.

We are working with the Ministry for Culture and Heritage, Visits and Ceremonial Office (Department of Internal Affairs), and the New Zealand Defence Force to deliver a commemoration that is appropriate to the occasion.
