Two long-time directors on the Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital and Clinics Foundation Board of Directors retired recently after years of dedicated service.

Michelle Farrell and Ben Wood served on the board for 13 and 7 years, respectively, all while running successful local businesses.

"Both have contributed greatly to the board during their respective tenure," said foundation director Natalie Tollefson. "Despite competing demands, both found ways to support various fundraising activities, strengthen community connections and advocate for community health needs in relation to the Foundation's charter."

Committed to communities, people

Board service offered Farrell and Wood the opportunity to see Gundersen Boscobel's mission in action.

"I was able to see first-hand the compassion and care for their patients and the drive to continue to improve its services and the entire organization," Wood said. "I was able to form lifelong friendships with wonderful people who cared for me and for the organization."

As a pharmacist herself, Farrell said serving on the Foundation board was a natural fit.

"The pharmacy and hospital are equally committed to the well-being of the great people who call Boscobel and its surrounding communities' home," Farrell said. "Seeing how generosity can propel projects forward and help meet those needs is something awesome to be a part of."

Foundation appoints new members

The Foundation board will add three new members in March: Allison Klug, a family medicine provider; retired Gundersen Boscobel pharmacist Doug Knoble; and certified registered nurse anesthetist Dick Beinborn.

The Boscobel foundation supports programs and services at Gundersen Boscobel through the generosity of people like you. Reach out to Tollefson at 608-375-6300, ext. 63767, or email [email protected]to learn more about the Foundation's work.
