(Green Bay) On Monday, April 22 at 3:15 pm, Clerk Jeffreys issued a certificate of election and oath of office to Mr. Joey Prestley, Alder from Green Bay's District 6.

Mr. Prestley won his election by a margin 16 votes, after a recount revealed a write-in vote not originally tabulated.

Mr. Campbell petitioned for a recount, under Wisconsin statutes, after losing the election by 15 votes. The petitioner bears the entire cost of the recount, which stands at $6,624.25. The recount lasted 13.5 hours. Despite numerous objections from the petitioner, the Board of Canvass determined at-polls ballots, absentee ballots, absentee certificates, poll books and other election documentation were in good order.

Mr. Prestley will immediately assume his duties as an elected representative of District 6. He was appointed to the Parks/Improvement and Services Committee, the Sustainability Commission and the Equal Rights Commissions. He will be formally sworn in at the next council meeting on May 7, 2024, 6 pm.
