General average and salvage in the wake of the containership Dali incident

Webinar replay:

The tragic allision between the Dali containership and the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore has had profound implications for global supply chains. The closure of the bridge and interrupted access to the Port of Baltimore have significantly affected the logistics and flow of goods, creating uncertainty for transportation service providers and cargo owners regarding short-and long-term impacts to the distribution system and the timely delivery of product. Additionally, this situation has presented unexpected risks of loss and the potential for a declaration of unique maritime/admiralty claims for general average or salvage.

US Senior Marine advisors, Duncan Cox, SVP - North American Marine Claims Leader, Marsh Specialty and Nathan Mallory, SVP - Global Marine and Cargo, Marsh Specialty - US recently held a webinar to provide an update on the Dali incident and its impact on global supply chains. They shared valuable insights into the general average and salvage process, providing essential knowledge for consideration in relation to organization's particular cargo situation.

The webinar also offered education on the concepts of general average and salvage, to help organizations understand what they should expect if either is declared following the Dali containership incident.
