Pedestrian seriously injured following fail to stop crash - Lidcombe

Police are appealing for public assistance as investigations continue into a crash where a pedestrian was seriously injured in a hit-and-run in Sydney's south-west.

Just after 5.30pm today (Thursday 21 December 2023), emergency services were called to Vaughan Street at Lidcombe, near Joseph Street, following reports of a vehicle hitting a pedestrian.


On arrival officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command found a woman, believed to be aged in her 50s, had suffered serious leg and head injuries after being struck by a vehicle, which did not stop after the crash.

The woman was treated at the scene by Ambulance paramedics. She was conveyed to Westmead hospital in a serious condition.

A crime scene was established and an investigation commenced into the circumstances of the incident.
