Public Comment Sought on National Register of Historic Places Nomination for Coan-Gray House

The Historic Resources Commission is inviting the public to comment on a proposal to nominate the Coan-Gray House at 1121 Arbor Road to the National Register of Historic Places at its meeting on Wednesday, May 3 at 4 p.m. in the Bryce A. Stuart Municipal Building at 100 E. First St. in Winston-Salem.

The Coan-Gray House possesses local architectural significance due to its Colonial Revival-style design rendered by Charles Barton Keen's Philadelphia-based firm. The house is distinguished by its scale, sophistication and estate-like setting. The period of significance is 1928, the house's construction date.
