The General Assembly of the European Youth Information and Counselling Agency (ERYICA), which is being held in Malta, started on Wednesday, with the participation of several exponents from organisations from all over Europe that work with youths. ERYICA is the agency responsible for ensuring that the information released in public is real.
This General Assembly is taking place over three days, with the participation of Aġenzija Żgħażagħ, which is the government entity that works together with youth organisations in Malta.
The Parliamentary Secretary responsible for youths, Keith Azzopardi Tanti, addressed the opening of this General Assembly where he stated the importance of having similar opportunities that bring together various organisations from all over Europe to share their ideas with the aim to come up with the best solutions to remain relevant with today's modern and fast-paced times, and also to provide youths both accessible and relevant information.
He concluded his speech by auguring all the participants an informative and productive assembly capable of offering youths the necessary opportunities.
Aġenzija Żgħażagħ CEO Miriam Teuma stated that Aġenzija Żgħażagħ has been awarded the Quality Mark certificate for the information they provide youths and youth organisations. She thanked the participants for their work with youth organisations and augured that this assembly will increase the relationship between the organisations for more international collaborations.
President of ERYICA Patrick Burke stated that the agency's goal is to build a society where youths have access to true and understandable information, in modern language, which promotes their autonomy and encourages their active participation in society.
The General Assembly of ERYICA is taking place between 31 May and 2 June 2023 at Aġenzija Żgħażagħ in Santa Venera.
