Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 5002 Washington Avenue

August 15, 2022- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and wounding of two others at 5002 Washington Avenue about 2:05 a.m. today.

The identity of the deceased male, 33, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The two wounded victims, 37 and 36 years of age, were transported to area hospitals in stable condition.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Hernandez and S. Overstreet reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at a nightclub at the above address and located an unresponsive male in the parking lot. Paramedics pronounced him deceased. Two other men sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to a hospital. One of the males was shot in the arm. The other male sustained a self-inflicted wound to the groin.

Detectives learned an altercation between the deceased victim and at least one male suspect occurred in the parking lot leading up to the shooting. There is no suspect description at this time.
