Celebration of 50 years of chemistry alumni and 55 years since the founding of the Faculty of Science

This year marks the 50th anniversary since the first chemistry students graduated, and the 55th anniversary of the founding of the Faculty of Science at the UAB. To celebrate the event, an institutional ceremony will be held on Thursday 8 February at 5:30 p.m. at the Sala Josep Vendrell.
The event will be presented by Javier Lafuente, rector of the UAB; Juan Jesús Donaire, dean of the Faculty of Science; and Lluís Escriche, director of the Department of Chemistry.
A brief speech on the history of the Faculty of Science and the Department of Chemistry will be offered by former dean Jordi Bartrolí; while Rosa Maria Ortuño and Clara Viñas will each speak on their impressions as former students of the very first promotion (1969-1974) and the second cycle of the degree in Chemistry, when students from the University School of Girone enrolled (second promotion, 1970-1975).
Finally, a presentation of these past few years of the Faculty of Science will be offered by current Faculty Dean Juan Jesús Donaire.
