Samsung Electro-Mechanics hosted the "2024 SAT (Samsung Automotive-Component Tech-Day)" for two days starting from the 26th in Tianjin, China. The SAT is an event that invites automotive customers to participate in technology seminars and production site tours, with over 100 attendees from around 30 major overseas automobile and automotive companies.

At the event, Samsung Electro-Mechanics showcased overall trends and market conditions related to MLCCs across IT, industrial, and automotive sectors, through lectures and technology seminars, highlighting its unique product technologies. Presenting research results and mid- to long-term plans, Samsung Electro-Mechanics proposed tailored solutions for customers.

Additionally, Samsung Electro-Mechanics unveiled the production lines of the Tianjin corporation, a key automotive production base. The cutting-edge production lines demonstrated the process of manufacturing high-capacity, high-temperature, and high-pressure MLCCs, validating the technological expertise and production capabilities regarding automotive MLCC.

Executive Vice President Kim Wontaek, Head of the Strategic Marketing Dept of Samsung Electro-Mechanics, stated at the event, "This event allowed us to thoroughly understand and communicate the needs of key automotive customers," adding, "By developing high-capacity and high-reliability products with excellent quality, we aim to provide differentiated solutions and become a customer-centric collaborative partner in the growing markets such as AI and automotive."

CEO Chang Duckhyun previously emphasized his dedication to strengthening the automotive business at the March shareholders' meeting, stating, "In the future, automotive components will become one of the pillars of the company," and "This year, we aim to achieve 1 trillion KRW in automotive MLCC sales, with a goal of exceeding 2 trillion KRW in total sales for the automotive sector next year, including MLCCs, camera modules, and semiconductor package substrates."

Samsung Electro-Mechanics is conducting various events, including the SAT, customer invitation events (SCC, SEMCO Component College), and webinars to strengthen its MLCC and automotive businesses. As the world's second-largest MLCC producer, Samsung Electro-Mechanics commenced its MLCC business in 1988 and currently produces MLCCs in Busan, the Philippines, and China. Samsung Electro-Mechanics plans to focus its expertise on growing sectors such as AI and automotive, building on the technology developed in the IT sector.
