Passive Acoustic Reporting System Templates

To correctly submit complete detection data for all detected species to the Passive Acoustic Reporting System, the above templates must be used, consisting of three separate files:

• DETECTIONDATA
• METADATA
• GPSDATA

(GPSDATA is only needed for mobile platforms).

Each file contains tabs with: 1) example data; 2) with the field definitions to describe the expected input and format for each column; 3) instructions on formatting and naming the file before submission; and 4) any additional tabs if needed (i.e. the species' codes for the detection data sheet). Once formatted and saved as a .csv file the datasheets should be sent to [email protected]. These data will be displayed on the Passive Acoustic Cetacean Map.

Template Datasheet For 24-hour North Atlantic Right Whale Detection Data

24-hour NARW Detection Template

To correctly submit North Atlantic right whale (NARW) detections to the Passive Acoustic Reporting System resulting from real-time, offshore wind construction monitoring, the above template must be used and submitted as a .csv within 24-hours of a NARW detection.

The file contains tabs with: 1) example data; 2) field definitions to describe the expected input and format for each column; 3) species codes to use in the SPECIES column; and 4) instructions on formatting and naming the file before submission. Once formatted and saved as a .csv, the datasheet should be sent to [email protected].
