From April 23 to 26, the IAEA Task Force consisting of the IAEA officials and international experts will visit Japan for the review on the safety of the discharge of the ALPS treated water from TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (FDNPS) into the sea.

The IAEA officials and international experts will visit Japan from April 23 to 26 for a mission to review the safety of the discharge of the ALPS treated water from TEPCO's FDNPS into the sea.
(Reference1) The IAEA Task Force includes 11 international experts, serving in an independent position, from Argentina, Australia, Canada, China, France, Republic of Korea, the Marshall Islands, Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Vietnam.

- In April 2021, the Japanese government announced its basic policy regarding the handling of ALPS treated water from TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, which decided to discharge it into the sea. The Japanese government formally requested the IAEA to conduct a review of the safety of ALPS treated water, and in July of the same year, the Japanese government and the IAEA signed a Terms of Reference (ToR) and agreed to conduct a review of the safety of ALPS treated water including (1) a technical review, (2) a regulatory review, and (3) independent sampling and the data corroboration analysis.
