NOPD Arrests Suspect in Fatal Hit-and-Run Investigation

The NOPD has arrested Seth Anthony West (black male, DOB: 04-15-2002) in the investigation of a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred on April 20, 2024, in the 8500 block of I-10 Service Road.

According to investigators, the collision occurred at about 8:39 p.m. on April 20 in the 8500 block of the I-10 Service Road. The driver of a red Nissan 370Z collided with the victim, a female, as she was walking on the eastbound shoulder of the roadway. The driver of the Nissan fled without stopping. The victim was declared deceased on scene.

On April 28, the suspect vehicle was located by police. Through further investigation, NOPD Traffic Fatality Unit detectives positively identified West as the driver of the vehicle at the time of the incident. West was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on one count each of hit-and-run driving involving death or serious bodily injury and of obstruction of justice.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
