COVID-19 Vaccine Drive-Thru Update

After distributing more than 100,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine throughout Leon County and the surrounding area, Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) will be holding its final first dose drive-thru vaccine clinic on Thursday, April 22. Please know second dose clinics will continue as scheduled. With the COVID-19 vaccine now readily available throughout Leon County and the surrounding areas, and as demand for the vaccine slows, TMH has determined the community is well-equipped to continue meeting local COVID-19 vaccine needs without the organization's drive-thru vaccine site.

TMH's drive-thru vaccine clinic was originally established when COVID-19 vaccines first became available to the public in Leon County. With experience successfully conducting drive-thru testing at the Northwood Centre one year prior, TMH provided a safe and effective solution for rapidly vaccinating the community's eligible residents. Since activating the site in February of 2021, TMH directly vaccinated more than 20,000 Florida residents through the clinic.

Prior to launching the drive-thru site, TMH facilitated vaccine distribution to the community's healthcare workers, first responders, medically vulnerable and 65 and older residents through partnerships with other local healthcare organizations and practices. As vaccine eligibility has expanded, TMH has continued to assist local healthcare partners with their vaccination efforts by sharing the organization's regular vaccine allotments.

TMH encourages Florida residents who have not yet received the COVID-19 vaccine to visit the Leon County Department of Health's Leon County Vax Map to find locations nearest them to receive the vaccine.
