Tajani meets the mayors of central Italy to introduce the “Turismo delle radici” project

This morning, at Farnesina, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, will open the first presentation meeting of the "Turismo delle radici" (Roots Tourism) project.

The event's attendees will include the Mayors, Deputy Mayors and Councillors of Municipalities with less than 6,000 inhabitants from Lazio, Marche, Toscana and Umbria.

"Today's event is just the first of a rich agenda of meetings that will be held in Farnesina to share and analyse local realities and prepare initiatives for 2024, a year in which we celebrate the Italian roots worldwide", - stated Tajani. "As I said recently during the ANCI's Assembly in Genoa, the Municipalities are among the priorities of the Government Agenda, as they are means to promote Italian excellence and know-how. We intend to combine their vigour and our strategy for growth diplomacy".

The "Turismo delle radici" project will allow Italian descendants to discover small villages and rural areas behind the Italian migratory phenomenon and provide an authentic local tourist offer to fully appreciate the beauty, culture and ancient traditions of their ancestors' villages.
