Alexander Dennis, a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., one of the world's leading independent global bus manufacturers, today announced that it has handed over two new Enviro200 single deck buses to independent Scottish operator Peter Hogg Coach & Minibus Hire.

The pair of 9.7m long buses were built to the operator's specification. Their 34 belted Alexander Dennis SmartSeats are fitted with USB charging points and trimmed in a dark moquette matched to their grey wood-effect flooring for a refined and classy interior finish. They use Alexander Dennis's SmartPack efficiency technology to reduce exhaust emissions, giving them Low Emission Bus status.

Director Annelisse Hogg says: "We bought our first Alexander Dennis bus last year and it has proven such a reliable performer in our fleet that we were delighted to choose the Enviro200 again for this year's investment. The ability to tailor these to our own specification has been a real pleasure, giving us the perfect vehicles for our needs."

Continuing a tradition, the new buses are named after animated film characters, albeit this time with additional meaning for the family business as the names Peter Pan and Betty Boop were chosen to commemorate the late Peter and Betty Hogg.

Charlie Miller says: "The choice of names for this year's new Enviro200 buses is a touching gesture from Annie and her team and it really embodies the kind culture at Peter Hogg. I'm looking forward to continuing to support this great independent operator as it provides vital bus services in the Scottish Borders."

Peter Hogg operates local services for Scottish Borders Council, connecting towns and villages in the serve all the little villages in the Kelso, Jedburgh and Hawick areas, as well as a cross-border route to Newcastle upon Tyne on behalf of Northumberland County Council.
