ARROYO GRANDE RECEIVES MERITORIOUS OPERATING BUDGET AWARD
ARROYO GRANDE, CALIFORNIA - California Society of Municipal Finance Officers (CSMFO) announced that the City of Arroyo Grande, California, has received CSMFO's Meritorious Operating Budget Award for its Fiscal Year 2023-25 budget.
The award represents a significant achievement by the City. It reflects the commitment of the governing
body and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. In order to receive the budget
award, the City had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines are designed to assess how well an entity's budget serves as:
Budget documents must be rated "proficient" in all four categories, and in the mandatory criteria
within those categories, to receive the award.
The most recent Budget Award recipients are posted on the CSMFO website. Award recipients have pioneered efforts to improve the quality of budgeting and provide an excellent example for other governments throughout North America.
CSMFO promotes excellence in financial management through innovation, continuing education and the professional development of its members. CSMFO members are deeply involved in the key issues facing cities, counties, and special districts in the State of California.
