A memorandum of understanding on establishing friendly cooperation between the Vietnamese city of Lai Chau and Kazanlak was signed by the Mayor of the municipality Galina Stoyanova in Hanoi. The official ceremony was attended by National Assembly President Rosen Zhelyazkov and National Assembly President Vuong Dinh Hue.

The Mayor of Kazanlak, Galina Stoyanova, is in Hanoi together with the Bulgarian parliamentary delegation led by National Assembly President Rosen Zhelyazkov, which is on an official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

In the document, representatives of the Vietnamese city of Lai Chau and the municipality of Kazanlak commit to take measures to jointly develop and expand cooperation in specific areas. It is envisaged that the two parties to the memorandum will regularly exchange information on the situation in the field of socio-economic development, the potential, the strengths, the preferred policies and will encourage investment in production and business in different spheres. It is envisaged that the city of Lai Chau and the municipality of Kazanlak will develop annual cooperation plans to be approved for each year after discussing what has been achieved in the past year and approving a plan of activities for the next year. The Memorandum identifies as priority areas for interaction - promotion of investments, exchange of information, support for training, technology transfer, cooperation in the field of tourism, culture, vocational training and science.
