SAN ANTONIO (November 21,2022) - Throughout the City of San Antonio, many organizations are doing what they can to make sure every family enjoys a warm meal with their loved ones.

Councilwoman Phyllis Viagran and District 3 staff participated in various meal and turkey distributions throughout the District.

On Monday, November 14, the Gonzaba Foundation, and the District 3 Office distributed 300 turkeys to seniors, families, and food pantries in the community.

"The Gonzaba Foundation is honored to have been part of this year's District 3 Turkey Distribution. We are more than happy to help support our neighbors in need this holiday season. The distribution gave so many families in our community the opportunity to enjoy a nice dinner with their loved ones. A warm meal makes the world of a difference. Happy Thanksgiving!"

On Wednesday, November 16, the District 3 Office was invited to the South Side Independent School District's "Feast of Giving" event. Outside of the Raul Jimenez Thanksgiving Meal, this is the second largest meal distribution community event in San Antonio. The South Side Cardinals and District 3 staff served more than 5,000 warm meals to the Southside Families.

"The Southside Independent School District's "Feast of Giving" is growing and we're grateful for the support of the District 3 Councilwoman from the beginning" said Southside Independent School District's Director of Public Relations, Randy Escamilla.

On Thanksgiving Day, the District 3 office will partner with Meals on Wheels to deliver nutritional meals to homebound seniors by giving back to the District 3 community.
