Introducing Student Veterans of America’s National Academic Advising Center

What is the National Academic Advising Center (NAAC)?

The NAAC provides specialized and personalized academic coaching, career and education exploration tools, resources and support to transitioning service members, veterans, and their families. Find your path and maximize your education benefits with early guidance. Leverage APEX - SVA's Academic+Career Pathway Explorer to transform your experiences into skills and align them to potential career pathways and occupations. Explore relevant academic and non-academic programs that will prepare you for your desired career. Create a profile and self-assess your interests, military and civilian work history to receive personalized recommendations of potential paths based on what makes you unique. Get inspired by other student veterans' success stories and connect with them for mentoring opportunities.

The NAAC provides specialized advising and individualized academic and career coaching to service members, veterans, and their families at key intervention points starting before they even transition out of the military. You will be able to talk one-on-one with a Success Coach to discuss topics of higher education, understanding your APEX pathways and assessment results, and anything else related to your higher education journey and beyond.

How do I get started?

Once you create your MySVAportal account and fill out your profile information, all of the NAAC services and resources will be available to you. From there, you can utilize APEX, What Can I Do With This Major?, assessments, search degree programs and schools, and schedule sessions to talk with an SVA Success Coach!
