VIENNA, 17 May (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Burkina Faso to the United Nations (Vienna), Maimounata Ouattara, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ghada Waly.
During her career, Ms. Ouattara, who is also Ambassador to Austria, has served in various capacities, among them:
Principal Policy Officer, Cabinet of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (2014-2021); Advisor and Director for Parliamentary Diplomacy to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Burkina Faso (2013-2014); First Counsellor and Acting Economic Counsellor, Embassy in Washington DC, United States of America (2011-2013); and Second Counsellor, Embassy in Washington DC, United States (2008-2011).
Ms. Ouattara holds a Master's degree (MPhil) in History from the University of Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso.
Ms. Ouattara speaks English, French, Jula and Vyemon.
