NEW: Cortez Masto Votes to Pass Bipartisan National Security Package

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) released the following statement after voting to pass bipartisan legislation to support Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan, and deliver humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians. The package also includes the FEND Off Fentanyl Actto crack down on transnational drug trafficking.

"I'm proud to have voted to send this crucial funding to our allies and partners in Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan while delivering critical humanitarian aid to innocent Palestinians in Gaza. While it's disappointing that far-right Republicans in the House held up this vital aid to score political points, I'm glad to finally send this legislation to the President's desk. It's more important than ever that we stand together to protect democracy, and this package delivers on that promise."

Senator Cortez Masto has been a strong supporter of this bipartisan package to deliver vital funding to Ukraine, and Israel, while strengthening our partnerships in the Indo-Pacific region. She supported bipartisan economic sanctions that were signed into law to hold Russia accountable for its illegal invasion of Ukraine. She's also pushed for additional support to ensure Israel can defend itself following Hamas's terrorist attack and called on President Biden to do everything in his power to bring home the hostages and deliver vital humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians. In March, she introduced bipartisan legislation to help deter China's aggression against Taiwan.
