Valdosta Police Department Lieutenant Altobello Receives Officer of the Year Award

The Valdosta Police Department proudly announces that Lieutenant Vincent Altobello has been honored with the prestigious Officer of the Year award at the Rotary Club of Valdosta's 17th Annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner.

Lt. Altobello's exceptional dedication and exemplary service to the community have earned him this esteemed recognition. Nominated by his peers, Lt. Altobello's remarkable contributions to public safety and law enforcement have not gone unnoticed. Throughout his distinguished career spanning 14 years with the Valdosta Police Department, Lt. Altobellow has consistently displayed courage and professionalism in the face of adversity. His quick thinking and decisive actions have resulted in multiple lives saved, including administering Narcan to overdose victims.

Furthermore, Lt. Altobello has played a pivotal role in apprehending several wanted subjects involved in serious criminal activities, such as shootings, domestic violence, and murder. His commitment to upholding justice and ensuring the community's safety is commendable. In addition to his exceptional performance in the field, Lt. Altobellow has demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities. He has actively mentored and supported his fellow officers and new supervisors, facilitating their professional growth and instilling confidence.

Lt. Altobellow holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Thomas University and a Master's in Forensic Psychology. He has served in various capacities within the Valdosta Police Department, including Patrol, Narcotics Detective, Investigations Sergeant, and 11 years as a member of the Tactical Operations Unit. Additionally, he is trained as a Gang Investigator and Clandestine Laboratory Investigator.
