Participation of State Secretary for Defence Policy, Planning and International Relations in the Foreign Affairs Council Meeting and Schuman Forum
State Secretary for Defence Policy, Planning and International Relations, Simona Cojocaru, will participate in the Foreign Affairs Council Meeting and Schuman Security Forum that will be conducted in Brussels, Belgium, over 20-21 March.
The agenda of the Foreign Affairs Council Meeting consists in an enlarged configuration working session, in a joint format of the EU Foreign Affairs and Defence Ministers, dedicated to the implementation of the Strategic Compass.
The officials will have in-depth debates on the main conclusions of the first Annual Progress Report with respect to the implementation of the Strategic Compass for security and defence, a paper which will be presented by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Defence Policy, Josep Borrell.
During the meeting, the dignitaries will also approach the situation from Ukraine generated by Russia's aggression war as well as the measures taken by the European Union in order to provide support to Ukraine.
Being at its first edition, the Schuman Forum is an important event taking place a year after the endorsement of the Strategic Compass. The Forum aims at generating a dynamic exchange of opinions, by bringing together governmental officials, decision-making factors, military representatives, representatives of the civilian society and opinion makers of the EU members states.
