Miracle League of Dubuque and FOX Sports to Host Field of Miracles Game

The Field of Miracles Game, which coincides with the 2022 MLB at Field of Dreams game, provides individuals with disabilities the opportunity to play baseball just like they do in the big leagues.

Game day activities begin at 9 a.m. This year's matchup of Miracle League athletes is the "Chicago Cubs" versus the "Cincinnati Reds" in honor of the MLB game. The line-ups will be announced at 9:45 a.m. with the first pitch scheduled for 10 a.m. The community is invited to cheer on the athletes and experience all the joys and thrills of America's favorite pastime.

"It is a special day for the players and families the field serves," said Merle Santjer, president of the Miracle League of Dubuque board. "We are excited to once again partner with FOX Sports to create this opportunity for our athletes."

The Miracle League of Dubuque and FOX Sports partnership began last year. The broadcasting network provided specialized equipment and custom jerseys for the dedication game at the Miracle League of Dubuque field two days before the MLB game at the Field of Dreams.

When the 2022 MLB at Field of Dreams game was announced, FOX Sports and Miracle League of Dubuque worked together to plan another event.

"We support the right of all to play sports" said Mark Toyama, FOX Sports Director of Community Partnerships. "We want to continue to support the Miracle League and their efforts to create equitable access to baseball in Dubuque and the greater Iowa community."

FOX Sports is once again providing customized, MLB jerseys for the players and baseball equipment. Following game, the athletes and fans are invited to enjoy fare from local food trucks and play pickup baseball games. Activities will conclude at 1 p.m.

The Miracle League of Dubuque Complex is managed by the City of Dubuque Leisure Services Department and is located at Veteran's Memorial Park (2790 Miracle League Drive) and is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. This facility offers an all-inclusive playground and baseball field providing children and adults of all abilities the chance to play alongside their peers.
