Laborshed Studies Completed in Southwest Iowa

Communities in southwest Iowa, including: Atlantic, Clarinda, Corning, Council Bluffs, Glenwood, Hamburg, Harlan, Lenox, Missouri Valley, Mount Ayr, and Red Oak have had Laborshed studies completed and the results published. The studies for all of these can be found on the LMI Laborshed page (www.iowalmi.gov/laborshed) including results for each region.

Iowa Workforce Development (IWD), in partnership with the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA), announced in May 2018 that a Laborshed Study would be conducted for one community in every county in Iowa at no cost to local development organizations and their partners.

The completion of the studies announce here wraps up the first complete round of this program. To date, 99 of 99 individual studies have been completed for communities across Iowa under the new funding program with IEDA. Additionally, regional studies have also been released. All results are available on the Laborshed web page (as referenced above).

The study results are available in highly visual and interactive formats using data visualization software from Tableau and ArcGIS.
