Legendary BMI songwriter Wil Hart of The Delfonics performed recently at a special breakfast hosted by the Pennsylvania Restaurant & Lodging Association at the Four Seasons in downtown Philadelphia that that featured a keynote address by the city's current mayor Cherelle Parker. Hart is the last surviving member of the TSOP group that strung together a series of massive hits in the 60's and 70's such as "Didn't I Blow Your Mind this Time," "La -La Means I Love You" and "Ready or Not Here I Come." The Philly band was founded by Hart and his brother William, known as "Poogie" and their high school friend Randy Cain. The GRAMMY award winning group is a Philadelphia treasure that's been inducted into the Philadelphia Walk of Fame and the National R&B Hall of Fame. Wil continues to perform live with his band The New Delfonics. The PRLA represents the state's hospitality industry and has been a long-time partner of BMI's.
