London Stock Exchange Group welcomed financial industry leaders and innovators to celebrate the start of the Financial Alliance for Women Annual Summit, taking place on 4-5 June in London.

The Alliance's Annual Summit is the premier global event focused on the power of the female economy. This year's Summit, "Unlocking the Female Economy: Investing in Women Entrepreneurs" is hosted by HSBC. It brings together senior executives from more than 65 countries including leaders from commercial banks, fintechs, insurance and payment companies all with strategies to support Women's Markets as well impact investors and policymakers supporting women's financial inclusion.

The global finance gap for women in business is £1.3 trillion. The Alliance members and partners are charting the path towards closing this gap with a proven business case. The Summit will showcase innovative strategies to enable more equity and debt financing to female entrepreneurs, comparing and contrasting what is going on in the UK with other markets. Global experts will share experiences in implementing national strategies in reporting on volumes of financing going to women that build accountability and know-how, explore how financial services providers can support women's resilience to climate change and much more.

"Closing the financing gap for women-owned-businesses takes actions across the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The UK has made huge headway, as have many emerging markets. We are privileged to bring together key actors from across the world to share innovative strategies that work to close that gap," says Inez Murray, CEO of Financial Alliance for Women.

"HSBC is proud to sponsor the Summit, share our experiences and learn from other leaders in the field as we seek to drive meaningful change for women entrepreneurs. We were honoured to ring the LSE bell together with our colleagues to launch the event," says Stuart Tait, General Manager Head of Commercial Banking, HSBC UK.
