​Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Paid a Courtesy Call on the Governor of the Bank of Thailand​

Mr. Sethaput Suthiwartnarueput, the Bank of Thailand Governor, welcomed the courtesy call by Madam Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on 18 November 2022 at the Bank of Thailand. The visit involved a discussion on prevailing challenges in the global economy, including the impact of policy normalization in Advanced Economies on Emerging Market Economies, risks of economic fragmentation as a result of rising geopolitical tensions, and climate-change related risks. They also discussed the roles of the IMF in supporting its members to overcome these challenges, and underscored the importance of financial safety nets given the risks ahead.
