Michaela has a "thing" for standards and insists on complying with them. Following up on agreements, acting as a mentor, lots of networking-these are the key elements of her work, which lead to the ultimate goal of obtaining the desired certificates: 9001, 14001, 45001, IATF (International Automotive Task Force)-to name just a few. We receive these certificates because we work according to certain standards in terms of quality, environment, occupational health and safety. This means our customers can be sure that we are at the cutting edge of technology. Some of the certificates apply exclusively to voestalpine Stahl GmbH, while others apply to the entire Steel division.
She receives many a despairing look during the preparations, but she takes it in her stride. The IMS manager, who is delighted with the level of commitment on show in the voestalpine Stahl GmbH Strip business unit. She is also in close contact with our customers and can see the success of her work in their pleased reactions.
In IMS management, she utilizes her strengths: accuracy, open-mindedness, openness to new processes, and a good pinch of tenacity. Without this last indispensable ingredient, achievements such as IATF recertification with ZERO deviations would not have been possible-and this was a particularly strict automotive standard! This rare industry feat was of course celebrated in style. The voestalpine spirit was palpable.
She smiles broadly: "When it really matters, everyone knows what to do. We talk about everything, stick to what we've agreed, share thoughts and experiences, and highlight the positive things, not just the negative." "It's really cool," she sums up.
Michaela likes her job because her tasks are very diverse. She actually has no everyday routine, the work packages are extremely varied, and she is constantly exchanging ideas with IMS colleagues, thinking outside the box, and getting to know many areas. Her days are never boring. She is especially proud of her small, talented IMS team, which consists of four women and one man.
She advises anyone who is interested to always be curious, to be open to other approaches, and to talk to others. IMS managers also need a clear picture of how processes established elsewhere work for their team. They need to give clear explanations and provide their own interpretations. "Mistakes help you learn" is her motto as she guides people along the path to compliance.
For our #OurFavoriteThings campaign, she spontaneously joined us and took a break from her many tasks to pack finished coils in front of the camera.
Energy, greentec steel, education, sustainability, innovation and, first and foremost, people: all core elements of our latest brand campaign. By moving away from technical datasheets demonstrating our capabilities and turning to real stories, the campaign offers insights into the world of our employees-the people who, as part of the voestalpine team, play a key role in the company's success. They speak about what excites and moves them-our favorite things, if you will.
