Columbia Police arrested John Lonce Williamson III, 27, of Columbia, Dec. 9 in connection to a homicide that occurred Dec. 8. He was arrested for first-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action.

At approximately 10 p.m. on Dec. 8, officers responded to the 1500 block of Typhoon Court for a reported assault. Upon arrival officers found an adult female, later identified as Azairah Brownlee, 27, of Columbia, who had sustained apparent life-threatening injuries.
