The delegation also met with Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and members of his administration to share their concerns with Mexico's handling of these issues.

"I representthe largest U.S.-Mexico border district in Congress. Although this part of the country is a gateway for trade, commerce and cultural exchanges, it has also become plagued by human and drug smugglers that terrorize the borderlands every single day,"said Congressman Gonzales."In order for the bilateral relationship with our southern neighbor to prosper, U.S. and Mexican leaders must work together to bring law and order back to the border. I appreciated the opportunity to meet with the AMLO administration and discuss how to bring about that much-needed change."
