Steil Presents Health Care Hero Award to Kenosha Pediatrician

KENOSHA, WI (May 6, 2024) - Congressman Bryan Steil (WI-01) recently presented Dr. Jaya Iyer, a pediatrician at Children's Kenosha Pediatrics and Regional Medical Director for several Children's Wisconsin, with Wisconsin's First Congressional District's Health Care Hero certificate.

Dr. Jaya Iyer has been a pediatrician at Children's Wisconsin Kenosha Pediatrics primary care clinic for almost 25 years. Most recently, she was appointed as the Regional Medical Director for several Children's Wisconsin. Dr. Iyer is known for having a strong commitment to the approximately 2,500 patients and families she sees. In addition, Dr. Iyer has been a champion of the recent Children's Wisconsin initiative to integrate mental and behavioral health specialists across all primary care clinics. Overall, Dr. Iyer is described as a compassionate, thoughtful, and welcoming to kids and their families.

"Dr. Iyer has dedicated almost 25 years to Kenosha children's health," said Steil. "On top of that, she is committed to ensure mental health is not put on the back burner. I am proud to present her with a Health Care Hero certificate."

NOTE: Recipients of this award are nominated by local Wisconsin citizens and selected by Wisconsin's First Congressional District's Health Care Advisory Board. The Health Care Advisory Board is comprised of health care professionals across Southeast Wisconsin.
