Thailand Foundation Hosts 4th Expatriate Orientation Program (EOP4)

On 3-4 April 2024, the Thailand Foundation organized the Fourth Expatriate Orientation Program (EOP4). This two-day program aims to provide useful and interesting information to foreigners living in Thailand about various aspects of the country, Thai people, and Thainess. Attendees at the event included diplomats, academics, and expat businesspersons, among others.

Eight Sessions at the EOP4 included: (1) Prism of Thainess: Approaching Thai Society from the Perspective of Thai Values; (2) Thailand in a Historical Perspective; (3) Bangkok that You Might Not Know ; (4) Appreciating Arts Around You in Thailand; (5) Thai Economy: Thriving in Global Uncertainties; (6) Thai Economy: What's in it for you; (7) Discover the Four Regions of Thailand by Rails; and (8) Finding Your Lifestyles in Thailand.

Conducted twice a year by the Thailand Foundation, the EOP serves as a "quick-start manual" to help expatriates and their families enhance their professional and personal experience in Thailand through better understanding Thai culture, customs, and characteristics of Thai people, as well as other essential information that they should be aware of. The sessions are usually conducted by renowned speakers from different fields, including history, economics, and international affairs.
