Midnight Madness to kick off 2023-24 Tarleton State basketball seasons on October 16

STEPHENVILLE, Texas - Start the countdown, there is less than a month to go until basketball returns to Wisdom Gym.
Tarleton Athletics announced Thursday that Midnight Madness will be held on Monday, Oct. 16, at Wisdom Gym to kick off the Texan Men's and Women's Basketball seasons.
"We are so excited to be a part of another 'Madness,' it has been so much fun as our students always make it an extremely special event," Texan MBB head coach Billy Gillispie said. "No one, and I mean no one, does it better than the students at Tarleton State University. Our players and I can't wait to show our fans what we can do in the best atmosphere anywhere. Let's go!"

Midnight Madness will, of course, begin at midnight, with doors opening at 11 p.m. It is one of the most exciting Tarleton Athletics events of the year that features a loud and packed Wisdom Gym.
"Our team and staff are so excited to be part of Midnight Madness," Texan WBB head coach Bill Brock said. "What an awesome opportunity for our students, community and players to share their enthusiasm for the upcoming basketball season. I can't wait to see the 'W' packed. Go Texans!"
Midnight Madness will help begin a jam-packed homecoming week at Tarleton State. After the Memorial Homecoming 5K and Lighting of the Smokestack on the Sunday, Tarleton will host the Silver Bugle Hunt and Midnight Madness on Monday night.
Each Texan on the 2023 men's and women's basketball teams will be introduced, along with the coaching staffs. It will be a party-like atmosphere throughout the night. Full details will be announced closer to the event date.
Midnight Madness is an in-person only event and will not be streamed. Attendance is free to the public and student body. No tickets are necessary.
