Norfolk Awarded Fifth Consecutive Time for Excellence in Citizen-Centric Reporting

NORFOLK, VA - The City of Norfolk received the Certification of Excellence in Citizen-Centric Reporting from the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2021.

This marks the City's fifth consecutive year of receiving this award and represents its prioritization of strong financial management.

The goal of the Citizen Centric Report is to help simplify how governments present financial and performance information to taxpayers so that it is clear, accurate, relevant and easily accessible by all. This four-page publication contains valuable information that demonstrates accountability to residents and provides a high-level overview on the City's Fiscal Year 2021 accomplishments and key measures of progress, including revenue and expenditure details, financial data, and a brief overview on Norfolk's goals.

The AGA applauded Norfolk's commitment to good government and responsible fiscal actions reflected in the Citizen Centric Report and highlighted how the City's citizen-focused report provides residents the opportunity to better understand the services provided - and at what cost.
