Brazil, Undersecretary Tripodi in Campinas to meet with the Mayor and visit the Inova, Pirelli, and Luxottica plants

On the second day of her system mission to Brazil, Italy's Undersecretary of State to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Maria Tripodi had a cordial meeting with the Mayor of Campinas Dario Saadi and visited the Inova Research Centre and the Pirelli and Luxottica plants.

The Undersecretary was able to appreciate the contribution made by the two Italian companies, leaders in their respective sectors, to Brazil's development, which will be given further impetus by the Brazilian Federal Government's Growth Acceleration Programme.

"I hope Brazil's cooperation with Italian companies may further increase, in line with the spirit of the Agreement between the EU and Mercosur, which Italy strongly supports", commented the Undersecretary, stressing how important it is for the Italian Government to maintain a constant dialogue with Italian companies operating in such strategic markets. "I really appreciate that the political line outlined by President Tajani on the occasion of the Italy-Latin America Conference - centred on growth diplomacy, the promotion of investments and partnerships that are beneficial to all the players involved, and cooperation in the academic and scientific-technological spheres - is being implemented" said Tripodi.
