The Procuratie Vecchie honoured at the Corporate Heritage Awards 2023
Generali has distinguished itself for the valorisation of its historical and cultural heritage thanks to the restoration of the Procuratie Vecchie, the home of The Human Safety Net, a venue for global dialogue on sustainability and solidarity
Generali has won the award for the "Narrative for Social" category at Corporate Heritage Awards 2023,thanks to the restoration work on the Procuratie Vecchie in St Mark's Square in Venice. The ceremony, now in its third edition and held on the XXII Corporate Culture Week, rewards companies that stand out for the enhancement of their historical and cultural heritage through the use of different communication tools and methods.
Leaving Footprints, an academic spinoff of the Università degli Studi del Sannio and the Università degli Studi di Napoli Parthenopespecialising in heritage marketing, deemed Generali deserving of this award, as "with the restoration of the Procuratie Vecchie in St. Mark's Square in Venice, Generali's headquarters since 1832, it has created 'The House of The Human Safety Net'. The project has preserved the historical importance of the 16th century building. This space now serves as a place for global dialogue on sustainability and solidarity, values that have always distinguished the company and its centuries-old social commitment. Through this project, Assicurazioni Generali has succeeded in sharing its historical and cultural heritage with society and spreading its organisational culture".
The restoration and subsequent reopening of the Procuratie Vecchie was an emblematic moment for our Group and for The Human Safety Netfoundation, becoming part of a renovation and promotion programme for the entire Marciana area, including the Royal Gardens reopened in 2019, and the project to make Venice the World Capital of Sustainability.
