Since the beginning of the pandemic, videoconferencing programs have become an integral part of day-to-day communication, whether it's talking with loved ones or professional colleagues. Among those programs is Zoom, which is now commonly used for everything from work meetings to virtual events and even audition sessions. With Zoom's continued popularity and usage, having in-depth knowledge of its features will be helpful for creatives and industry professionals alike.

To provide SAG-AFTRA members with an overview of the platform's features and capabilities, the SAG-AFTRA President's Task Force on Education, Outreach & Engagement hosted Biz Basics: Zoom 101 on June 30. The presentation was led by SAG-AFTRA Foundation IT and Creative Production Manager Jae Choe, who outlined the similarities and differences between Zoom's free and member accounts and demonstrated its basic and most advanced features. Viewers were also given tutorials on how to set up and join meetings, as well as instructions on how to troubleshoot common issues.

'A lot of things are happening on Zoom [and other conferencing programs], which is good because it means the software is always being improved,' said Choe.

Following the presentation was a Q&A session.
