PRESS RELEASE BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES A Maltese parliamentary delegation led by the Deputy Speaker leaves Malta to participate in the 66th CPC in Ghana

Earlier today, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, David Agius, together with Carmelo Abela and Graziella Attard Previ left Malta for Accra to participate in the 66^th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference.

The Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC) is the annual Conference of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA). It is the largest annual gathering of Commonwealth Parliamentarians, who come together to discuss global parliamentary and political issues. The 66th CPC will be held under the theme of 'The Commonwealth Charter 10 years on: Values and Principles for Parliaments to Uphold'. 2023 marks the 10^th anniversary of the Commonwealth Charter which outlines the principles and values of the Commonwealth.

A number of side conferences and meetings will be held in the margins of the 66^th CPC including the 39^th Small Branches Conference of which the Maltese Parliament is a member. This conference consists of four workshops for members of parliament in small jurisdictions related to the theme of the conference, 'Mobilising Relationships and Resources for Greater Sustainability'.

The 66^th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference will be held in Accra, Ghana between 30 September and 6 October 2023.
