National Highways Project Manager Kevin Barry said:

"We will soon be starting our resurfacing scheme on the A14 between Bury St Edmunds and Elmswell. Ahead of the work starting next month our project team will be at the Jubilee Hall in Elmswell to answer questions and explain the work we have planned. The scheme will provide safer and smoother journeys for drivers once complete on this busy section of the A14."

Work will start to resurface the A14 between junction 43 (Bury St Edmunds) and junction 47a (Woolpit) on Monday 15 April.

This will include new road markings and road studs. Once complete, drivers will benefit from a safer and smoother road surface.

The work will be carried out in two phases. Phase 1 will begin on 15 April and phase 2 is planned for autumn 2024.

Work will be done overnight between 8pm and 6am on weeknights only, weather conditions permitting.
